Within ACT, social justice, equality, diversity, and inclusion receive a great deal of attention. Not only are these topics inextricable bound up with climate change, but they also pose challenges that we need to deal with on a daily basis – in how we do things. On September 8, 14.00- 15.30 pm (CET) professor Aminata Cairo
will deliver a webinar in which we will explore will how these ‘big topics’ translate into the task of creating safe spaces in the arts.
Aminata Cairo is head of the Social Justice and Diversity in the Arts research group at the Amsterdam University of the Arts (NL). She was previously, among other things, Lector Inclusive Education at the The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Diversity Officer at Leiden University, Associate Professor of the Anthropology Department at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, and she was involved in numerous research projects in the fields of anthropology, diversity and creating inclusive and safe learning and working environments. She has a wide range of publications about diversity and inclusion to her name and is involved in various non-commercial foundations and organisations as an adviser and board member.
The webinar is open to members and affiliates of all ACT partners. You can register by sending an e-mail to both Jacco van Uden ([email protected]) and Carolina Mano Marques ([email protected])
